What’s in the box – Eighth and Ninth Delivery of my CSA from Eagle Creek Farms

I dropped the ball and forgot to post last weeks’ delivery! Here she is…with this weeks’ delivery following:

Some sort of summer squash, a head of lettuce, broccoli, 2 varieties of potatoes (BLUE MAC – purple skinned with creamy flesh and PROVENTO – white), carrots, fresh dill, garlic and of course a lovely sunflower.

Can anyone enlighten me on what kind of summer squash this is? I’ve never seen one like this before, and haven’t yet attempted to cook or eat this beauty yet.

Yesterdays delivery surprised me. The zucchini is monstrous. Like, seriously…the biggest zucchini i have seen in a long time. I’m thinking it will make my entire batch of zucchini relish this season. See for yourself.

We have one ginormous non-chemically grown “beast” of a zucchini, potatoes, carrots, cilantro, garlic, field cucumbers, broccoli and rainbow chard.

I also impulsively purchased 24 pints of raspberries, some gorgeous peaches and plums. I have a feeling that there is a lot of canning, pickling and also great food in my future 🙂

About Eunice

I'm just a girl who is passionate about food. It is my personal quest to try to expand my culinary horizons both at home and abroad. However, I was not always passionate about food. I had my epiphany much later when I got my very first job...at a sushi joint here in town. And just like that "Hook, line and sinker"...a foodie was born! I'm a P/T blogger, P/T yogini...but always a foodie.
